Key Objectives of the Role

 

To maintain an overview of all aspects relating to design for the region.  To support the Project Manager with managing all aspects relating to design for a particular project(s).  To add value to the project(s) by promoting ‘best value’ design solutions.  To portray a professional and responsible image of the company to the clients, their colleagues and contractors.  To be part of the ‘Bid Team’ delivering value engineering options, operation delivery solutions, preliminary input and bid document information.  To promote Health Safety and Quality to the projects and through the tender process  To develop and maintain the design programme and other design controls.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Be fully aware and understand the requirements and implications, to yourself and others, of the company’s current health and safety, environmental and quality policy (this could apply to all the company policies)
  • To support the Bid Manager with all aspects of the Tender
  • To support the Project Manager/Senior Site Manager at all stages of the construction process
  • Responsible for reviewing ‘design management’ documentation and ensuring its correct use and development when required
  • Ensure that the project design is delivered in accordance with the programme
  • Monitor the design programme and other design controls
  • Ensure the company design procedures are adhered to.
  • to monitor the defects period for ‘Value Engineering‘ options performance
  • Promote the department to prospective and existing clients, colleagues and contractors
  • Carry out periodic Health and Safety checks on site

 

 

Required Experience

  • Construction experience not necessarily in design management
  • Ideally academic qualification up to QVC 4 or above.
